Adding a balcony to a flat roof usually involves doing things in stages – measuring for and inserting the posts, sealing the holes for waterproofing, then finishing the roof, finally adding the glass. This often means delays as your builder waits on parts to be fabricated, which can be time-consuming and costly.
The seals where the posts fit through the waterproof membrane also have to be perfect, or the roof will begin to leak.
Our subframe solution removes need the need to drill into your flat roof at all, providing the perfect solution to save you a headache!

Our steel subframe is the perfect solution to avoid drilling into your flat roof membrane. A rectangular 100 x150mm box section steel sub-frame sits on top of the membrane and doesn’t require holes drilling into the roof, preventing possible leaks later on. It also means that any future maintenance is simpler.
The steel features precision-cut grooves along the bottom to allow for efficient drainage and prevent water pooling.
Designed to be purchased in conjunction with one of our balustrade systems, the pre-drilled, galvanized subframe ensures ease of installation, eliminates the need for additional drilling, and provides superior rust resistance for long-lasting durability.
This can be installed by your builder and then your balustrade bolted onto to this, making the job much quicker.
This product is hot-dip galvanised (to BS729) to prevent corrosion and painted in one of our four standard colours: black, white, anthracite grey, or graphite silver.
Lead Time and Delivery
Lead times can vary throughout the year as certain periods are busier for us than others, but typically we would advise a lead time of 4-5 weeks for manufacture and delivery of our balustrade systems. Please note this is 5 weeks from the date payment is received, not from enquiry.Â

Delivery is via our dedicated courier DX. Balcony delivery charges for UK locations are:

If you require delivery outside of the UK mainland please call us to discuss a price.
We do not provide install services, however, we provide comprehensive fitting instructions and typically an experienced handyman or builder will be capable of installing all of our products.
Technical and Safety Information
- Made from steel conforming to BS EN 10025.
- All welds are to BS EN 1011-2.2001.
- Hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461:2009.
- For safety purposes there are no gaps greater than 99mm in any of our designs.

Hot Dip GalvanizationÂ
Our steel products undergo a hot dip galvanization process; this provides the steel with a surface coating that offers long-term protection from rust and corrosion.
Galvanization adds a slight texture to the steel. It is lightly buffed and sanded before the powder coating is undertaken, but it’s impossible to achieve a completely sleek ‘car bonnet’ finish with this process, and you may notice some unevenness under the paint surface. If you are looking for a perfectly smooth finish for your balcony, we would recommend checking out our glass and stainless-steel range instead.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the service we provide, we will accept change of mind refunds of unused products that are returned to us in perfect condition within 2 weeks.
