Dimensions
All our balconies are designed to a standard height of 1100mm and feature gaps no larger than 100mm anywhere in the structure, ensuring full compliance with building regulations.
(please note 1100mm from floor level is the minimum height your balcony needs to be for compliance with UK Building Regulations)
We can manufacture to the exact width you require, up to any size. Please call us if you want to discuss the sizing in more detail before you place an order. As a guideline, we recommend adding 300mm to the width of the window or opening.
Glass information
We use 17.5mm and 21.5mm Toughened, Laminated Safety Glass which is up to five times stronger than standard, non-toughened glass. Its enhanced strength makes it ideal for Juliet balcony designs, allowing more light into your space without compromising on safety. All of our toughened safety glass meets European Safety Standards, and we can provide a certificate of conformity upon request.
This glass is created through a specialized process, where edge-worked panels are subjected to intense heating and rapid cooling, resulting in its superior durability. In the unlikely event of breakage, it shatters into small square fragments to minimize the risk of injury. Toughened safety glass is commonly used in buildings for unframed assemblies (such as balustrades), structurally loaded applications, and other areas where safety is paramount in the event of human impact.
Lead Time and Delivery
Lead times can vary throughout the year as certain periods are busier for us than others, but typically we would advise a lead time of 2-3 weeks for manufacture and delivery. Please note this is 3 weeks from the date payment is received, not from enquiry.
In a hurry? We hold Bently steel balconies in stock in black in most standard sizes – these can be delivered within 5 working days if required. Please call to enquire.
Delivery is via our dedicated courier DX. Balcony delivery charges for UK locations are:
- £80 for balconies with a width of less than 2000mm
- £125 for balconies between 2001-3000mm wide
- £200 for any balcony wider than 3001mm
If it is more convenient you are welcome to collect your product from our warehouse in Rochdale. Just give us a call to book your collection.
If you require delivery outside of the UK mainland please call us to discuss a price.
We do not provide install services, however, we provide comprehensive fitting instructions and typically an experienced handyman or builder will be capable of installing all of our products.
Technical and Safety Information
- Made from steel conforming to BS EN 10025.
- All welds are to BS EN 1011-2.2001.
- Hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461:2009.
- For safety purposes there are no gaps greater than 99mm in any of our designs.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with the service we provide, we will accept change of mind refunds of unused products that are returned to us in perfect condition within 2 weeks.
